Showcase More...but with Less

An effective jewelry banner picture...
One of my jewelry client had real pretty collection of gemstone jewelry earrings. Pretty much wishing, she could have all of them in a single shot...
However, I believe, while shooting 3-4 items in 1 picture is OK...having them all together as a pair will increase the number of product to 8-10- which according to me is a Crowd.
Pictures tend to lose effect when they are crowded with items.
I tried to get a fine balance- Lets shoot 1 of each together....and it really worked out.

Jewelry- Earrings Panoramic Shot with single item
We have effectively shown 8 different types of earrings available for sale by the client in just 1 picture. Also the idea is kinda artistic on white and hence used as a Banner Shot.

Dangle Daisies- Banner Shot For Printing- Team Blingies, Fl

This idea can be used for similar style earrings without having to use both of them in the pair.

A Glow trick...

Timer without Glow
Recently I had a client from CA requesting to photograph some timers. One of the picture he wanted was to show the glow on the timer during night time. But the glow button wouldn't stay glowing for more than 3 seconds. To add to this problem, any light that falls on the timer screen would deactivate the glow. Here is the picture of the timer ( without glow)....

Tried a couple shots in dark, in light, in night mode, in all possible Av, Tv, Manual modes...all possible that my Canon T4i can provide me with. Finally...the NOT GIVING UP attitude gets me going.....What to do??
SIMPLE.....Photoshop...- The Glow Trick

Select the area of the screen. Add the glow color to the selection on top of another layer. Blend the color layer with overlay or darken or which ever suits the picture. Play a bit with the transparency of the color layer.. Bingo!!!!    The timer finally glowed :))

Timer with the GLOW...
Not to mention, this successful glowing gave a glow to my smile!!!!! Client Happy....Me Happy!!!

Convey the message through pictures..

I feel jewelry like apparel needs to convey style and feel.
For jewelry which are artisan handcrafted, using some home based backgrounds like a jute bag or a jute pillow can give a feel of the handcrafted nature of the jewelry. Earth tones, green leaves can do the same.
Here is an example...

Relevant words on its side makes it a ECO friendly banner worth big bucks!!

A Little Something to Get the Much Needed!!!

A little something can go a long way in adding that much needed something to a picture..

This is just a plain picture shot with a prop. But I feel it less attractive ( may be boring....)
So to make it happy...let add something to it.

Hmmm.. Looks better.
Some props here and there just peps up the pictures.

An Eco-Touch to the Shoes!

Shoes can be shot on various backgrounds other than white and colored.
For the ECO TOUCH FEEL, the shoes can be done in 2 ways.
Either we shoot it directly in the Nature surrounding

OR

In a Studio Setting- something like this.

Such shots are priced slightly higher than the actual surrounding shot due to set ups involved.
Also the studio shot allows for a great reflection and more control of the lights.

Create Effective Jewelry Banners

With the trends of photographing jewelry on Nature Backgrounds, many website use such pictures to differentiate themselves from the others. This also allows the jewelry a touch of nature or anything related to the seasons. Invogue, here is how we do some good banners to be used for websites.

Picture cropped for upload to the website.

The actual picture is shot considering the banners to be done. Just a few words aligned properly makes it look worth a great banner!!
